PCHEM Class Notes – Week 3

To anyone reviewing my notes: Please feel free to reach out if you need any clarification on anything I wrote! I know the cursive can get a bit sloppy at times. I try to include everything, but it’s a bit difficult to keep up with the graphs, charts, etc. at times! I try to write down the figure number for reference from our textbook.

If you want to contact me for more information/ any clarification/ to start a study group/ need talk to someone… please comment below, DM me on Instagram, or send an email by clicking this link, the icon in the top right corner, or manually typing out breealbright@gmail.com.

LABOUR DAY | September 2, 2019

Happy labour day! There was no class on Monday. I hope you had a lovely weekend and spent time relaxing with friends and family, or your day at work was an easy one.

CHAPTER 19 | September 4, 2019

Oh god it’s been a long weekend, I barely remember where we left off and I think it’s still Chapter 19? Prof. Nielsen said we finished up a chapter today, so either we finished chapter 19 or we finished it and moved on a long time ago. Either way, here is the material from today’s class!

What we covered:

  1. Standard enthalpy of formation at room temperature (298.15 K) and 1atm

  2. Standard enthalpy at another temperature

  3. Standard enthalpy at another pressure (well, we covered that we will cover this later in the course)

  4. Joule-Thompson expansion of a gas

CHAPTER 20 | September 6, 2019
